CarrierSafetyData provides public commercial motor carrier records to assist logistics professionals, shippers, freight brokers, and drivers in verifying highway safety compliance and fighting freight fraud.
All records are compiled directly from public government databases under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). We do not issue formal federal safety ratings or adjudicate legal disputes between shippers, brokers, and motor carriers.
01. Government Non-Affiliation Disclaimer (FTC 16 CFR § 255)
All carrier census numbers, inspection violation counts, crash reports, and insurance records displayed on this platform originate from public government data releases under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
Official statutory safety ratings (Satisfactory, Conditional, Unsatisfactory) are issued exclusively by federal investigators under 49 CFR Part 385 following formal on-site or off-site comprehensive compliance reviews. Roadside inspection failure rates on this site are purely mathematical compilations and do not constitute formal government ratings.
02. Permitted Commercial Use & Broker Due Diligence
Freight brokers, motor carriers, dispatchers, logistics managers, and commercial insurance underwriters are granted a revocable, non-exclusive license to use this site for lawful carrier vetting, freight tendering due diligence, and risk assessment.
Users acknowledge that federal public data records may experience reporting latency from state law enforcement agencies. Shippers and brokers remain independently responsible for conducting final due diligence (including reviewing primary FMCSA registry filings and verifying certificates of insurance) before tendering freight or issuing rate confirmations.
Under MAP-21 and 49 U.S.C. § 14916, entities brokering freight without active property broker operating authority face federal civil penalties of up to $10,000 per violation. This platform provides tools to assist in verifying legitimate licensed entities.
03. Strict Zero Pay-to-Remove Binding Policy
CarrierSafetyData enforces a strict, non-negotiable Zero Pay-to-Remove policy. Public transportation safety records belong to the public domain and cannot be bought, hidden, or expunged through monetary payment.
- We strictly refuse all financial offers, subscriptions, or sponsorships from motor carriers to delete or modify truthful public safety records.
- We never demand "reputation fees" or charge carriers to correct erroneous information.
- If a carrier successfully overturns an inspection violation or crash citation through the FMCSA DataQ system, we update the public profile 100% free of charge within 24 hours of receiving official proof.
04. FAST Act Section 5223 Compliance
In strict adherence to the Fixing America's Surface Transportation Act (FAST Act § 5223), CarrierSafetyData does not publish or calculate restricted relative percentile BASIC rankings.
All metrics presented reflect raw, factual public records: total inspection counts, vehicle out-of-service orders, driver out-of-service orders, and DOT-reportable crash logs over trailing 24-month rolling windows.
05. Prohibited Activities & Security Protections
Users agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited behaviors:
- Deploying aggressive automated scrapers that degrade server stability or disrupt site access for normal users.
- Attempting to bypass firewall rate limits or tamper with security configurations.
- Misrepresenting carrier safety records in legal proceedings without verifying primary federal files.
- Using site data for unlawful extortion, commercial fraud, or double-brokering schemes.
We reserve the right to block IP addresses or take legal action against malicious actors violating these rules.
